Position Summary:The Prevention Specialist works in collaboration with the Departments of Health Services and Title IX to develop a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to support student health and well-being. 
Essential Functions:Health Promotion- Develop and implement ongoing curriculum and outreach programs for students based on theory and evidence-based principles that address sexual assault prevention, interpersonal violence, sexual harassment, stalking, and bystander intervention. 
- Conduct individual consultations and small group workshops for students and student organizations. 
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including athletics, fraternity and sorority life, residence life, and student life, to develop partnerships for ongoing training and prevention education.
- Collaborate with Title IX and Health Services to develop, implement and evaluate the needs of the NJIT student body as it relates to prevention education and sexual health.
- Supervise and train volunteer student staff to assist with programming and activities and serve as the advisor to NJIT’s student organization for sexual health awareness.
- Research and assist in developing culturally aware educational materials, including web-based applications, social media marketing, and other innovative means of communication.
- Serve as an institutional Title IX investigator for student reports of sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking and sexual harassment.
- Remain current on best practices, State updates, and federal regulations as it pertains to sexual assault prevention, interpersonal violence, sexual harassment, stalking and bystander intervention. 
- Assist with case management through Maxient, NJIT’s conduct and case management system.
Prerequisite Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion/Education, Social Work, Public Health, Community Health, or related fields. 
- 3 years’ relevant experience, including the planning and implementing evidence- and community-based educational programs and clinical case management experience.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
